Can a high-density workplace still feel calm? We believe it can.
Located in Melbourne’s CBD, this workplace transformation for a leading law firm was designed to support a growing team without compromising employee wellbeing. Guided by three core principles—Privacy, Plants and Productivity—the design reimagines how a dense office environment can feel open, calm and highly functional
The Design Solution
Privacy through thoughtful planning
Four existing meeting rooms were transformed into eight high-performance quiet rooms, with enhanced acoustic treatments to provide dedicated spaces for focused work and confidential conversations.
A softer, more organic workplace
The original linear, oversized joinery was replaced with sculptural curved forms that improve circulation, soften the overall aesthetic and seamlessly integrate lush planting throughout the space.
Seamless workplace expansion
The workplace was reconfigured to accommodate 128 additional workstations, all delivered within a live working environment with minimal disruption to the firm’s day-to-day operations.
The Outcome
Despite a significant increase in occupancy, the workplace feels lighter, more spacious and more connected to nature. The result is an environment that enhances focus, supports collaboration and demonstrates that workplace density and employee wellbeing can successfully coexist.
